\"question\"<\/a>Mass media and the internet has blessed us with a wealth of information at our fingertips that has never been more abundant and accessible. In the areas of health and fitness, in particular, there is so much information and countless viewpoints that it can be confusing to navigate toward the best path for you.<\/strong>\u00a0 — You should be on the Paleo diet. The Paleo diet is the worst of all diets.<\/a>\u00a0— Running is the best exercise. Weight lifting is far more beneficial than running. — You need to take a daily vitamin. Vitamins have been found to provide no benefit to your health. — It’s overwhelming and the voices are often amplified over our social media networks. My friends LIKE it so it must be true\u2026 good for you\u2026 fact.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the books that I enjoyed reading recently is called Wheat Belly<\/a>. The author makes a convincing argument for removing all forms of wheat from your diet. Is this the answer for better health? That’s the wrong question.<\/span> The question you should be asking is, “how can this information help me achieve my health and fitness goals?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another example – recent media reports have been shouting that vitamins and supplements are ineffective and a waste of money as backed by scientific studies<\/a>. Does this mean you shouldn’t take a daily vitamin? Or stop using supplements? No. It means you should learn more about what’s right for you. Research. Talk to your doctor. Think about how this fits or doesn’t fit with your overall game plan. (You do have a plan, don’t you?)<\/p>\n

The best advice I can give you is don’t believe everything you read but never stop reading, listening, learning and seeking new information to support your quest for living a healthier, happier, better life.<\/strong><\/p>\n
