I am Hans. And I am Franz. And we just want to pump… [clap] … you up!
Sign up for a gym membership. This is your commitment to getting serious about exercise. Even if you are a runner, a walker, or you have gym equipment at home, there isn’t a substitute for belonging to a gym. You are a “member”, you are paying…etc. Gym memberships can be expensive but as the saying goes… you get what you pay for… This is not an absolute, however. Try out a few gyms with a tour & trial and pick what’s best for you based on location, price and amenities. Many gyms offer memberships for as little as $10/month like Charter Fitness or Planet Fitness. Here you’ll get access to the basics like bikes, treadmills, and a variety of weight machines. For another low cost option, check out your local park district rec center. Step up to the $35-50/month clubs and you’ll probably get access to group classes and maybe a pool. If you can afford it, more money will get you access to premium facilities and personal training.
A gym membership should be one part of your overall strategy. Not the only part. It’s easy to get comfortable in your routine. Wake up. Go to gym. Push heavy things on machine. Go to work…. You won’t be pushing yourself. You’ll do what’s easy to get through it. You won’t see results. Change your routine regularly… Try an exercise class or book a few sessions with a trainer. You’ll step out of your comfort zone and ultimately see better results.
